He wins the DB5 in a card game from Alex Dimitrios who is an arms dealer with ties to death squads and right wing paramilitary groups. Bond receives the DBS, arranged by 'M' which contains a medipac which later saves his life.

The cards have been produced by Cartamundi who have been involved with Bond for 5 years and made the cards that were actually used in the Casino Royale film. These cards have been exclusively designed by them for corgi.
